IFPA Practician Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy |
Aims:
To develop an understanding of the origins & development of aromatherapy.
To explore and develop an understanding of the science and issues around the production and composition of essential oils and related products in order to practice safely.
To develop in depth knowledge of 65 essential oils, essences and resinoids and 22 carrier oils.
To explore and develop the safe practice of blending for individual clients, client groups and conditions.
To develop the skills necessary for effective consultations and safe treatment with essential oils and related products.
To develop an understanding of the ethics. Limitations and business requirements of the practice of aromatherapy.
To develop an awareness of current research into aromatherapy and associated products used in its practice and evaluate its usefulness to practice.
After successful completion of this fourteen-month course you will be awarded the IFPA Practician Diploma in clinical Aromatherapy, which will also enable you to join the AC National Register.
Students must hold a recognised qualification in Therapeutic Massage and Anatomy & Physiology or work towards these qualifications in conjunction with taking this diploma.
Students will be assessed by means of:
- Full attendance of the course
- Continual assessment through assignments, to include a 3,000 word thesis
- Completion case studies
- Personal massage log
- Student portfolio
- A final written and practical exam moderated by IFPA assessor
Home study, both theory and practice, is an integral part of this course. The Academy expects a high level of student commitment throughout. Background reading is essential.
