Aims:
To provide an introduction to the working of the human body.
To provide an understanding of the anatomical terms associated with describing the human body.
To develop an awareness of the chemistry underlying the functioning of the human body.
To develop an understanding of the organisation of the human body from cells to systems.
To provide a thorough understanding of the normal physiology of the human body.
To develop an awareness of what constitutes a deviation from normal to functioning.
To describe symptoms and signs of these deviations.
To develop an awareness of how the human body response to stress.
To provide an understanding of the mechanisms by which repair may be effected.
On satisfactory completion of the course the successful candidate will be presented with the IFPA Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology.
Students will be assessed by means of:
- Full attendance of the course
- Continual assessment through assignments and practical sessions
- A final written exam
Home study, both theory and practice, is an essential part of this course. The Academy expects a high level of student commitment throughout. Background reading is essential.
The course is taught one day per month for 9 months after which the students attend an examination day. After this, the successful student can progress onto the Practician Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and Practician Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy.
The cost of the course including handout, student workbook, first aid course and exam fee is £650 (excl. vat) deposit £100. For your convenience this can be paid for in installments.
These modules can be taken separately as CPD days if qualified therapist require more in depth knowledge on one of the above mentioned subjects.
